 PSYCHEDELIC-ASSISTED THERAPY & INTEGRATION TRAINING +
PSYCHEDELIC MEDICINE EDUCATION & ADVOCACY

 About PCH

The Psychedelic Coalition for Health is a psychedelic medicine education, training and advocacy project by Nicholas Brüss and Lauren Taus.

We offer training in psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration for licensed clinicians, and public education programs advocating for the psychedelic medicine health and happiness.

“There is a wealth of information built into us...tucked away in the genetic material of every one of our cells...without some means of access, there is no way to even begin to guess at the extent and quality of what is there. The psychedelic drugs allow exploration of this interior world, and insights into its nature.”

Lauren Taus, LCSW

Lauren Taus is a psychotherapist with a specialty in psychedelic assisted therapies.  As a clinician, Lauren integrates alternative modalities of treatment into her work. She focuses on embodied techniques to support integrative health in mind, body, heart, and spirit.

Lauren has decades of experience as a yoga teacher and trainer that translate into therapies that support connection and kind relationship within the body. She studied with David Emerson under the supervision of Bessel van der Kolk at The Trauma Institute in Boston in trauma sensitive yoga, and she’s trained by the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) for MDMA assisted psychotherapy for complex PTSD.

Lauren trained with Dr. Phil Wolfson in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Lauren supports psychedelic assisted therapy research with the intention to bring these types of interventions back into the Western maintream model. Lauren believes that individual and collective healing are intimately intertwined. She is an activist and an advocate for a safer, more integrated world. Lauren is passionate about engaging with individuals and groups to create systemic healing and homecoming to the goodness that exists in all beings.

Nicholas Brüss, EdD, LMFT

Nicholas Brüss is an integrative psychotherapist and clinical researcher who specializes in helping people heal and grow with psychedelics-assisted psychotherapies. He was trained as a psychedelic therapist by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) and is a co-therapist on the MAPS-sponsored FDA Phase III clinical trial of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD in Los Angeles, CA.

Nicholas has provided ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) since 2017 and has been a certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist since 2015. He is a leader in psychedelic-assisted IFS therapy, the Clinical Director of Psychedelic Therapies at Hope Integrative Psychiatry, and a volunteer with MAPS’s Zendo Project. Having seen the power of psychedelic-assisted therapy, Nicholas advocates and educates for science over stigma and is inspired to provide reliable information and integrated training to work and explore with psychedelic medicines.

He is a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, and a certified teacher of the Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) through the Center for Compassion, Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) at Stanford University School of Medicine.

As two psychedelic-assisted trained therapists in Los Angeles, CA, Lauren and Nick met and supported each other in private practice. They wanted to expand the work, and envisioned co-facilitating group ketamine-assisted therapy sessions, but Covid-19 had other plans.

Lauren and Nick ultimately developed PCH over dinner conversations about the need for more trained, local community and integration in the larger space of psychedelic medicine. The project grew as they invited colleagues and mentors to collaborate. They still have regular working dinners where they dream out loud dreams that they plan to create and share with you through the Psychedelic Coalition for Health.

“After having personally conducted over the last fifty years more than four thousand psychedelic sessions, I have developed great awe and respect for these compounds and their enormous potential, both positive and negative.
They are powerful tools and, like any tool, they can be used skillfully, ineptly, or destructively. The result will be critically dependent on the set and setting.”
